7 Week Weight Loss Challenge: Final Weigh In

Here is the final week. Did I do as well as I had intended..probably not but it dang sure got me doing more than I would have done 7 weeks ago!!

Before and after pictures…

20130419-080556.jpg

As you can see from the picture I still have some work to do. I am still sporting my “mom pooch” that I would like to tackle over the next several weeks. But all in all I am happy with myself. I feel almost swim suit season ready!

Final weigh in on this challenge…

My starting weight: 128.4

Today’s weigh in: 120

My goal weight: 118

I am 2 pounds from my goal. I lost a total of 10.4 pounds. I’ve struggled getting under the 120 mark for several months so my next goal is to push myself to get under that. I haven’t worked out much the last two weeks. I do find I have more energy and a better mood when I do work out so I plan to make time to work out more the next few weeks.

I may be starting another challenge, which I’ll keep you all posted on!

How is your weight loss going? Are you nearing your goal? Do you work out and eat healthy as much as you’d like to or is there room for improvement there?

7 Week Weight Loss Challenge: Weigh In Week 6

Just one more week to meet my goal and win some money. I am not working out nearly as much as I want/need to be so I am going to push harder the next two weeks to work out at least 5 times a week. I figure if I take it a couple weeks at a time that might help my overall long term goals.

As you may recall from last week the group I am challenging with has chosen to add a week to make our challenge 7 weeks now. So next week will be my final weigh in and a before and after photo…lets hope its good!

Now for my weigh in this week…

My starting weight: 128.4

Today’s weigh in: 120.5

My goal weight: 118

I just about had a little party in my bathroom this morning when I stepped on the scale. I was expecting there to be no change from last week but as it turns out I lost two pounds this week! That means I only have 2.5 to my goal in one week…I got this!!

6 Week Weight Loss Challenge: Week 5 Weigh In

1-Lori

I have this post named “6 Week Weight Loss Challenge” however the group of girls I am in the challenge with and I have chosen to add an extra week to the end to help us recoup from spring break and Easter candy. So this is now the 7 Week Weight Loss Challenge, which is a dang good thing because this week was a L A Z Y week for me. I had one sick child after another since last Friday, plus I was ill on Easter. I only worked out twice this week…yesterday and today. Hopefully I can keep the workout momentum into the weekend especially since the kids have a three day weekend with Monday off.

Now for my sad weigh in this week…

My starting weight: 128.4

Today’s weigh in: 122.4

My goal weight: 118

I did not loose any weight this week, but I also didn’t gain any (thanks to the yucky stomach bug I had on Easter). No progress this week and my body is showing it. Things I really learned this week is that no matter what challenge or competition I am in I am ultimately the one who has to be happy with myself in the end. If I “cheat” one day I have to be okay with that, I also have to be able to get myself back on track the following day. I know what weight I am happiest with because it is when I feel the most energetic and healthy, I need to push myself to get to that place and stay there. No one else cares what number on the scale that is for me.

We finished the 30 Days Of Healthy Ways Challenge over the weekend… I slacked off at the end of the challenge and only ended up completing 23 of 30. It’s not bad but it isn’t what I had expected of myself. The next time I do a challenge like this I will try to keep the momentum going throughout the 30 days not just the first half.

How is your weigh in this week? Are you where you had hoped to be? Do you feel healthier?

6 Week Weight Loss Challenge: Week 4 Weigh In

Well despite not working out as much this week as I should have I am still seeing progress in my weight loss. I realized this week that this is the first time I have set out to loose weight post babies and/or breastfeeding. In the past years when I lost weight I was breastfeeding which helped me burn more calories each day. I also normally had the goal to get to my pre-baby weight (so that I could become pregnant again). This time I am loosing weight and getting fit FOR MYSELF! It feels great to know that I took on this challenge for me, not anyone else, and when all is said and done I want to be happy with ME!

Now for my weigh in this week…

My starting weight: 128.4

Today’s weigh in: 122.4

My goal weight: 118

I am down 6 pounds and have 4 more to loose to my goal.

We are nearing the end of the 30 Days Of Healthy Ways Challenge.…this I have really slacked off on this week. I have now completed 23 of 28 days. Not bad but not great either! I had forgotten to pick up a new veggie and new fruit to try when grocery shopping earlier this week PLUS I totally spaced off doing my 100 push ups. As for yesterday, “Reassess and renew your New Year’s resolution and/or fitness goals.”, well I had told myself I would get healthier after the New Year which this challenge has helped me with. My weakness is sweets and carbs so I decided yesterday that I would give myself a goal to cut the amount of carbs and sweets consumed each week over the next 6 weeks. I am hoping that by eating more protein I won’t crave carbs as much as I do so my goal is also to eat more carbs. I plan to replace fruits and nuts with my bad habit sweet cravings.

ALSO my husband and I set a goal to run the San Antonio Rock n’ Roll 1/2 TEAM RELAY Race together in November. I will likely have to do the 8 mile part of the relay so we are going to start training for that. It looks like my oldest son is going to compete in the kid Ing 1 mile race that weekend as well. We are very excited for him and he is going to train with us (on a smaller scale) over the next several months!! So lots of new goals set which I am totally excited about!!

How are you doing on your weight loss? Are you happy with your progress? Did you find yourself slacking or picking up your pace this week??

Now for my weigh in this week!!

My starting weight: 128.4

Today’s weigh in: 123

My goal weight: 118

To help change up my work out routine once a week I have turned to Pinterest. Here are some of the workouts I have found that I like…

6 Week Weight Loss Challenge: Week 2 Weigh In – Fitness Friday Tips

Here I am in week two of my 6 Week Weight Loss Challenge and I am down 4 full pounds! I have dropped one size in my jeans as well!! I didn’t expect to be so productive in this challenge but I am not complaining!

I counted all my calories on MyFitnessPal this week. With it being spring break I didn’t get as many work outs in as I would have liked but I have managed to stay very active and find some small workout to do each day. I wrote about a change in routine to help my perk my day on Tuesday…

A CHANGE IN ROUTINE (Tuesday, March 12)

Sometimes life demands so much of us and leaves little time for ourselves. My day was started early with little ones hungry for breakfast followed by us all cleaning up our back yard, showering to run errands and grocery shop. Followed by putting the groceries away, watching the kids ride their bikes, reading books to my daughter and then making dinner.

I realized I never really got a good work out in today and my mood this evening showed it. I decided to take time while dinner was cooking to make time for myself…in this case my workout.

I did a one minute wall sit, 50 walking squats around the kitchen, 50 wide squats, 30 side sizzlers and 30 wall push-ups. It only took me about 15 minutes to do all of these exercises. My mood changed instantly and I was able to push through the next 3 hours until the kids bed time.

Now for my weigh in this week!!

My starting weight: 128.4

Today’s weigh in: 124.4

My goal weight: 118

For my 30 Days Of Healthy Ways Challenge I have completed 12 out of 14 daily challenges. I ate past 6pm on Wednesday because we went to dinner with my in-laws. I did however split the California Pizza Kitchen Pizza with my husband!!

6 Week Weight Loss Challenge: Week 1 Weigh In

I am one full week into my 6 Week Weight Loss Challenge and so far I have had good progress!

I have counted all my calories with MyFitnessPal this week and I worked out five days a week both last week and this week. Having recently moved to the area I have not found a gym yet but I am working out at home. I have also been walking and running while pushing my kids in the jogging stroller.

My starting weight: 128.4

Today’s weigh in: 126

My goal weight: 118

For my 30 Days Of Healthy Ways Challenge I have completed 6 out of 7 daily challenges. I did not drink enough water on day 3. 🙁 Today’s task is… 8. Get 8 hours of sleep… hopefully my little ones let me complete that task without having to wake several times in the night.

6 Week Weight Loss Challenge: Fitness Friday

I can no longer eat. junk. all. the. time! It is Fitness Friday….here is what is in store for me each Friday for the next six weeks!

I was venting to few friends about my weight gain over the last five months. They could sympathize with me and decided to hold a six week weight loss challenge that they invited me to participate in. The challenge starts Today, March 1st.

For this challenge we will each weigh in weekly over six weeks. Today we note our weigh in weight and our goal weight. Then each Friday we will have our weigh in. We are keeping track of our weights and goals on a shared spreadsheet since we live in three different states (Arizona, Colorado, & Texas).

Here are the rules we are using:

  • If you gain weight you pay five bucks a pound.
  • If you stay the same you pay three bucks.
  • If you lose you pay nothing.
  • Person closest to their goal wins the pot.

We decided to up the wager by adding a special 30 Days of Healthy Ways Challenge to begin March 1st. We all put in $10, then the lady to complete the most daily challenges in March will win the pot.

My plan to loose weight:

  • Work out for at least 30 minutes a day 5 times a week.
  • Keep track of my daily calories on MyFitnessPal.
  • Drink at least 3 bottles of water a day. (16.9FL oz each)
  • Follow the daily 30 Days of Healthy Ways challenge, one for each day in March.

Additionally I will have a weekly weigh in here on my blog each week. Plus I will try to post pictures of my progress over the next six weeks and the final weigh in with my after picture!

Today’s weigh in weight: 128.4

My goal weight: 118

Here is a picture of me this morning before my workout.
