I took part in a blogging conference with a friend of mine (that I met in Midland) at SeaWorld this weekend called AdventureCon. Being that I was already going to be at the park and have down time my family tagged along to spend some time having fun. Being that we visit SeaWorld pretty often we had an idea of the new shows and things we wanted to see as well as the things our friends wanted to see and do ahead of time but at SeaWorld there is always unplanned fun to be had!
My oldest and daughter have rode Atlantis a number of times however my second son always chooses to stand and watch them. Today was different, he had his friends visiting so he wanted to partake in the fun with them!!
As part of the AdventureCon conference we got to see a special preview of the new Pets Ahoy Show. My youngest (the animal lover) was in complete aww even before the animals came out because he could hear them back stage. Once the show started he couldn’t take his eyes off the stage. Animals coming from all different directions doing fun and neat tricks was VERY entertaining!
My oldest son has been waiting an ENTIRE YEAR to be tall enough to ride the Great White so you can imagine his delight when he stepped up there to find out that he is now indeed tall enough AND he got to ride with mom AND dad for his first ride! He was on cloud nine! After riding endless rides all over the park, catching a few more shows, we headed for the exit where we were delighted to realize we were just in time for the new Sol Celebration! It was chalk full of music, dancing and more fun as we exited the park!
On Father’s Day we decided to wear our swim suits to enjoy all the rides and pools in Aquatica. Our kids took turns racing down the kid slides, swimming across the pools, splashing each other, and bouncing in the wave pool. With dad’s in tow it was fun to do as much as we could with them.
I have to say that our husbands really were troopers for taking eight kids into SeaWorld for hours on their own to let the kids have fun while we were at AdventureCon. I must admit that I’d thought it would be a couple years before my husband would feel comfortable enough in large crowds to handle managing our four kids, let alone helping with four others. They both were amazing and I know our kids will have this Father’s Day weekend as a GREAT MEMORY as they get older! I mean what is better than spending the entire weekend riding rides, watching shows, being silly, and just having fun at SeaWorld with your DAD!
**I am in no way affiliated with SeaWorld. All views and opinions are my own. I share them on my own for other families that might be interested in taking their kids to SeaWorld.
